WORKER'S MEMORIAL DAY
PHILAPOSH was founded in 1975 by concerned union members, workers, legal and health professionals. They are an independent organization which works closely with the Pennsylvania State AFL-CIO, the Industrial Union Council of New Jersey, The Work Environment Council, County Councils and other occupational safety and health groups across the nation and Canada to educate union members, safety representatives and the general public on a wide variety of job health and safety topics, including Workmen's Compensation, recognition and control of hazards, OSHA and other laws, legal issues, and much more.

ELLEN SLACK at the Worker's Memorial Day event. Sponsored by PHILAPOSH this powerful event includes reading of the names of those who died from work related injuries and illnesses in the Tri-State area over the year; casting of flowers into the Delaware River; and reaffirming our commitment to prevent injury, illness and death on the job.

2013 CONTRACT NEGOATION TEAM included the

and representatives from District Council 47
The 2013-2017 contract affords the Local job security for four years; improvements to our Drexel Library and Information Science / Information Technology tuition reimbursement plan; a less restrictive vacation policy; funding of our Legal Plan and the Health and Welfare Fund; and a cumulative 10.65% pay increase over the length of the contract.
